The Peppered table

After the success of the Cool Chair in 2009 I decided to continue and develop the punched metal aesthetic, this time employing the services of a laser cutter to simplify the fabrication process and thus adopting a ‘design by laser’ approach. The Cool chair took a week to make by hand as so much time was required to weld the jagged open seams of the panels of cut perforated steel. By producing my own punched metal designs, drawing all the holes in the right places, I could make a truly seamless product in a matter of hours.
